A+B= Happy?

The pediatrician thinks Avery might have a milk protein intolerance.  She doesn't really fit the profile of it because most infants with this do not gain weight well due to their symptoms.  Avery, on the other hand, has absolutely  no problem in that department.  I think it's kind of a Hail Mary at this point and so we're trying her on a new formula called Alimentum.  It's hypoallergenic and the proteins are already broken down so that hopefully if her body doesn't have to do that work, then she'll be pain free and a bit happier.  The stuff does NOT smell good.  So far, it seems to be doing OK.  We'll take it day by day and see how it goes.  Keep your fingers crossed for her!

This morning I woke up still feeling really tired, so I climbed into  Logan's bed to catch a few more minutes of down time while he was getting dressed.  I don't know how many of you have a toy-in-the-bed hoarder, but I honestly don't know how he has any room to sleep comfortably in there!  He is allowed to take 2 (quiet) toys to bed with him, but the problem is, those toys seem to stay there, and then two more go in the next night.  It's our own fault for not making him ditch some of those - and at some point we will but it's just not a priority right now.  Anyway, I tried to lay down and ended up with Optimus Prime poking into my ribs and two Bakugans in my shoulder.  So I said, "Sheesh...how do you even sleep in this mess".  His reply?  "Umm...well, let's see.  Mostly I just do it laying down."  They are SO literal!!!

  3. My son was on alimentum after we weaned from breastfeeding at 11 months (I had to be completely diary free for him while nursing as well) We ended up getting 5 cases of formula free through our pediatrician! Which is awesome since they are so expensive! My DS grew out of his allergy (he had blood in his diaper from a challenge just a month before he grew out of it!) at around 15 months old.
